Abstract
AUTHOR’S INTRODUCTION: What you are about to read is the first in a series of newsletters I wrote right after the Fukushima nuclear power plant disaster in 2011. Fortunately, we now have the benefit of hindsight to lend perspective and calm to the horrific events of that time. However, unlike now, at that time much was unknown and somewhat terrifying for many. While this newsletter series certainly reflects the fear that was inherent at that time, it was also my effort to make sense of it all and create hope at a time when panic was an all too common emotion.
