Abstract

ABSTRACT: According to the World Health Organization as of 2010 Hypertension, diabetes mellitus and obesity together form 24% of the global risk for mortality. In the US the IMS Institute for Healthcare Informatics published a report in 2011 stating that the states with the highest levels of prescriptions per capita are mostly clustered in the Southeast and have disproportionately older populations with higher levels of obesity, diabetes and heart disease.
